~ tracking down this book ~
Consider the premise of isolated deaths in ordinary families being orchestrated by a crazed, master villain with mystical powers. He peers down from his Land of the Recovered; shaping lives; influencing the destiny of nations; determining which individuals should live or die; and whether the deaths should be of natural or unnatural causes. He targets people on Earth, claims their souls and then, later on, returns them to Earth as different people, all under his control. They are his Army of Drones. But when he experiences the meaning of love, he undergoes a transformation as shocking as those he had ordered for thousands of years. Is he to blame for the radical change? Or is someone else?
