After the great success of *The Forge*, the first part of the trilogy *The Forging of a rebel*, Fabver & Faber continued with the publication of the novel autobiography of Arturo Barea, writer, journalist and republican, exiled in the United Kingdom since 1938. Thus, on July 9, 1943, the second part, entitled *The Track*, arrived in English bookstores. In it, Barea recounts his first literary dabblings and, above all, his experiences in the war in Morocco.
