This book looks at Samuel Adams from the perspective of a business and professional failure, with an extreme inferiority complex, who took up the cause of Independence from England as something that he hoped to succeed at. It then denigrates the majority of Adams' actions as misdirected, while playing down Sam's part in any successes.
