Jay and Sara become friends while living at the DNA Alteration Experimentation Laboratory (DAEL) hidden in the Rocky Mountains. Jay has been mutated with a bird of prey and Sara has been blended into a human, bird and cat. Jay and Sara along with 35 other mutated children escape DAEL, but DAEL is not willing to just let them leave.
