A hero-warrior is betrayed by his superiors to a drug dealer and sentenced to a prison planet for twenty years of hard labor. The prison shuttle is attacked and captured by a pirate ship in order to free their imprisoned leader. The remaining prisoners in the shuttle are pointed at an unnamed planet where they will die during the landing. Slaughter the imprisoned hero takes command of the shuttle and makes a crash landing instead of burning up on re-entry. He and the three remaining prisoners catch a planet inhabitant that spies on them. They are then captured by their prisoner's Clan and the stage is set for love and war.
